28 May 06 - Beach Volleyball @ Sunset Bay
When I arrived Harbour Front MRT Station, upon exiting....can hear the splattering sounds.
Heart sank...no sunny day for beach volleyball. Also good, less tanned...less UV rays on my skin.
It was raining almost the whole morning till about 1pm+ when the rain starts to cool down, so braving the drizzle for some friendly matches.
Had pretty good games tagging with Roy and the rest of the gang (Min, Strawberry, Ai Jiao, Ah Heng).
Beach Volleyball is still so addictive...how I wish the sand can be finer....rather than construction sand. Sunset Bay's lease is up and they gonna shift it to somewhere at East Coast Park. Shall support there as well when it has moved.
Left Sunset Bay around 630pm and headed to Sony Ericsson Service Center to collect my k750i which was sent for repair on Tuesday. Joystick functionality is a bit laggy or lacked response. Pretty glad with the fast service which took only 5 working days. Waiting time isnt that crowded too. But I still trust Sony Ericsson products, can't wait to get my hands on k800i.
It's another Monday soon and I am still struggling to find a new job. Hope things work out fine....

T3 Singapore Launch Party
1st Message Blog in 2006, I am not DEAD yet....i revived.....haha....
I was jio-ed by my nice kaki to the T3 Singapore Launch Party, was hoping to win some prizes but was entertained by free flow of TIGER beer and Coca-Cola instead. Not really a bad part of it, at least I got a 'chomp' for Zouk entry which happens to be the FAMOUS MAMBO night which I will never be there.
Too bad I missed my chance for the lucky draw as I didnt bring my name cards. Nevertheless, the party ended pretty early around 8:30pm or so. Was so stranded as I was all prepared in my shuffling gear to head for Liquid Room which only opens at 11pm.
Hence went over to Copthrone Hotel to bed with my eyes feasting on the current month issue T3 Magazine which was part of the goodie bag. Meddled with some games with my SE 750i. Finally the time has come.....after feasting my mood to my MP3 Player.
It was the last Wednesday of the month which means it's John Robinson up the set at Liquid Room. Was headed up by Stingray at the start n took over by Robinson around 1am. Nice type of crowd there with good space to shuffle all over. :) WOuld have enjoyed much as usually, know some new frds/shufflers.
Anyway, shant talk much...signing off here.

Run & Siam
Well....why Run & Siam? Siam(in Hokkein) means to escape from something.
That's actually for our team name when we participated this "The Island Escape Event".

Participants are Kevin, Ong Kian Tiong, Edmund and Myself. We managed to came in 1ST!
The whole challenge is really something that require teamwork. But each of us contributed our mind/actions as we go along with the checkpoint.
Giggling with a Nokia 6680 for each of us....it was a very satisfying award as we would assume that we got in 2nd as there was another team before us at the finishing point.
About what the challenge is all about....will write when I am not too tired....
To be continued.....

WIN WIN WIN.....
Call me an online contest fanatic! Been hunting and searching for online contests whenever I can.
This time round I won a pair of tickets to Sin Sity on 6 July from Planetmg.
Didnt get to watch it cos was working OT for the past few weeks.
Offered to my beach volleyball friends who ever replied will get it first.....
Making someone happier, does that trigger in their mind that "HEY, I got a nice friend here who gave me a pair of movie tickets!" as days go by? What are friends for right? I do treasure friendship, but how exactly do I regret friends as friends or just passed thru my life?
Nevertheless....shall look forward to my prized cruise trip with my beloved in the 3rd week of July.

Singtel 3loGy Wireless City Challenge Finals
It's the day I been awaiting for since the day when we qualify for the above event.
Our timing : 2hr 2min and we managed to secure 3rd placing.
It's really not as easy as it seems. In total there are 12 checkpoints as follows :
1. Mandarin Hotel
2. Far East Plaza
3. Hello Singtel (Opp. Mandarin Hotel)
4. Orchard Point
5. Opp. Istana
6. Plaza Singapura
7. City Hall MRT
8. Millenium Walk
9. Esplanade
10. Orchard MRT
11. Cineleisure
12. Mandarin Hotel (Finish Point)
I must say it's indeed not easy and need lotsa determination to really run for such a long distance. Of cos, each team is given $10 for transport allowance. Otherwise, legs go cracking manz. Indeed very BIG THANK YOU to my tag team partner, Kevin as well as his galfriend, Ivah for moral support. Kevin is definitely very sporting and has better stamina than me. Without his encouragement, I think I would give up quite easily. Guess age is really catching up, really have to train for long distance. Cos I usually have short burst of energy for fast sprint.
Overall the experience is good, it gives me a chance to know more about what 3G technology and how useful it can be. Just hope that the prices for 3G subscription would lower down to give consumers a more likelihood to use 3G for everywhere they might be.
Thanks to Singtel for organising such a "AMAZING RACE".

John Askew @ Onyx(11 Jun)
It was another night of shuffling for me.
Guess it's like I am breaking my clubbing rules. I am just too addicted to shuffling. Just wanna practice more and learn to shuffle much better. At my age, it's already time to be a father....rather than joining those clubbers @ the dancefloor, right?
It's not that I am not sensible. But shuffling has 2 purpose, to make me burn out and to unwind from my job.
Is it so necessary for me to be at a club to destress? Or am I using it as a decoy to be at the club. I am rather lost at times and I do get bored by things which are so monotonous.
Nonetheless, I promised my wife to be back by 1:30am for the night. Was a good warmup session by Yukun. Think John Askew arrived at around 12:15am.
Rating for the night is : 6 out of 10.

My Birthday
8th Jun....was the day I turned another cycle -> 29
Took leave and was at home blowing candles early morning.
Was very surprised that my wife gave me a present by leaving it in my study room.
I hardly noticed it...cos I was in the hall. Only when I passed by the room, then I saw the present.
So we went out to have KFC for lunch and at the same time wore my new watch cos the belt needs to be adjusted.
As for dinner, we had Sakae Sushi at Bugis Junction. She told me that in fact I got another present.....wow....really a double surprise. I keep guessing where was it placed in the home. It was actually a Billabong visor hanged at the door unwrapped. It went undiscovered cos it was hanging together with the rest of my other visors.
We actually departed a while, cos need to go Velvet to collect a goodie bag only entitled to Citibank Clear Card holders. It was actually 6 free drinks, Zouk Book and Zouk Rhythm CD. Left 10pm and meet her at Plaza Singapura and **HOME SWEET HOME**.

Singtel 3loGy Wireless City Challenge (4 Jun)
I took part in the Preliminary round for Singtel 3loGy Wireless City Challenge held today(Sat 4 Jun) at Mandrain Hotel and managed to qualify in the finals on 12 Jun
After all, there's NO REGISTRATION fees. The checkpoints are along from Cineleisure to Shaw House.
Let me do a summary of how the competition goes about.
Each team (2 players) will be given a Motorola 3G phone. Inside the phone there are 3 videos(showing 3 different objects at 3 different checkpoints). You must view the video to locate where's the checkpoint. You must reach the checkpoint according in sequence from the 1st checkpoint to 3rd checkpoint.
Once you reach the check point, look for Singtel staff(wearing red Singtel T-shirt) and approach him/her. It's because each checkpoint, they will assign a task to you (asking you about Singtel promo, navigate on 3G phone to download movies, songs, activate video call, sing song to the public, approach public to answer question etc)
The fastest team to come back to the start point will win and be qualified in the finals.
Upon completion, each contestant will get
- 2 pairs of tickets(compliments from Cineleisure Shaw)
- free flow of red bull (public can also take actually)
- 1 computer game -> Vital Sign
- Singtel t-shirt (need to wear it on for participation)
It's held for 3 days for the preliminary, 4 Jun, 5 Jun & 11 Jun.
Once in the Finals, confirm sure got prize.
GRAND FINAL (prizes)
1st prize:

Another frustrated Friday!
I am sure Friday is always the day to look forward to towards the week.....but sad to say, I always tend to OT on Friday. I am not really complaining over OT....but just feel that my work scope to support users' PC problem is never ending.....kinda sick about it.
Nevertheless, exploded myself again shuffling at Liquid Room for Vicky Devine.
She's pretty tall as a dj. Anyway, couldnt stay up too late, left around 12:45am as my female friends are running low on battery energy. :)
I am sure my wife is never too happy about my clubbing interests. I am kinda addicted to shuffling since last year. Guess I am considered old for this? What's so addictive about shuffling anyway? Just becos I have too much energy that's why?

Free stuff doesnt mean good?
As some may have known....I am quite a vivid online contests participant. Just like for this week, won 2 pairs of tickets @ GV Cinema to catch the movie "The Amityville Horror".
Poster sounds scarly....with Synosis as follows "On November 13, 1973, police received a frantic phone call that led them to a nightmarish crime scene at the Defeo residence in Amityville, Long Island - an entire family had been murdered in their beds while they slept. In the days that followed, Ronald Defeo eventually confessed to methodically killing his parents and four siblings with a rifle, saying "voices" in the house drove him to the massacre. One year later, George and Kathy Lutz and their children moved into the house thinking it would be their dream home. But soon the voices began again. Sleepless nights. Numbing cold. Visions of a murdered little girl. Then George began to do what the voices told him... 28 days after moving in, the Lutzes abandoned the residence - lucky to escape with their lives. 30 years after the shocking real-life events that inspired one of the most popular horror stories of all time, revisit the house that started it all: The Amityville Horror. "
In the end, was quite bored by the scenes, not even scary at all. Totally waste of time . Lucky thing was a prize won....if not lagi lugi by the $$.

BREAK! The Urban Funk Spectacular (27 May)
Indeed very lucky to win a pair tickets from Cocco Latte to "BREAK! The Urban Funk Spectacular" held at Singapore Indoor Stadium. What is it all about? Read below....

Move over, Stomp. There's a new show in town. BREAK! The Urban Funk Spectacular, which will be performing at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on May 27, is set to thrill with a fantastically enthusiastic, eardrum-blastingly entertaining, energy packed break dance concert that will leave you breathless with its unstoppable display of gravity defying gyrations executed with mesmerizing synchronicity.
Acrobatics, robotics, mime and inspirations from freestyle tap to hip hop sizzle across the stage as
New York's finest urban artistes combine athletic ability and graceful choreography to bring you a show of mind-blowing movements performed to a pumping soundtrack provided by a live DJ and Master Percussionists in a mega-club setting.
BREAK!, presented for the first time in Singapore, has received standing ovations across 5 continents. Come catch them in their one-night only concert before they move on to their next destination! Local talent Sheikh Haikel will also be making an appearance as Celebrity MC.
In fact was rather bored by it. Maybe just becos I dun appreciate HIP HOP. Anyway, left around 9:30pm and headed for wine bar for a while with the same frds who went for the event also. In the end, still ended up in Zouk shuffling for a while. Kinda sian also due to some sucky house music.

7th May - Ben Sims @ Zouk
It was another clubbing nite as usual for me. Been waiting long for this day as it's not easy to have a techno gig at Zouk.
Did enjoyed myself totally, but was totally a knockoff by the time I left Zouk at 4:20am.
Guess my body was already wind down by 6hrs beach volleyball at Sunset Bay in the morning.
Managed to get to see shufflers in the corner of the dance floor.....all having fun shuffling, cheering, admiring, observing, etc....
SHUFFLING is in my blood!

1st Pasar Malam (6th May)
Finally....after staying for more than 1 year, it was the first time that a Pasar Malam(means Night market) is being setup at my area.
The usual stuff like durians, fruits, kiddies stuff, clothes, accessories, Ramli burger, mattresses, pillows, etc....
Bought 1 shorts + a tanktop, grapes and durians. Both myself n my wife are durian lovers, altho quite an unhealthy fruit. Isnt it so disgraceful to call ourselves Singaporeans if we dun eat durians? hehe....

Stressed...
I really dunno what I want in life at times. Being married is the happiest moment of my life. Am I really happy about it? I know my wife is very hardworking, have I really been neglecting her?
Some of my friends who have known me would find it very surprised that how come I can still go club once in a while.....and worst thing of all I club alone.
What am I addicted to anyway? Ever since I contacted "Rotator Cuff Injury", I have been feeling pretty less mobile as before with my left arm. It really hurts when I lift up heavy stuff and rotating arms. I guess I bought this upon myself. PIAH MIA on the beach so much....I just have too much energy in my body. Is this part of my stress?
I only have a lot of physical energy, but wouldnt it be more beneficial for me if I can convert my physical energy to mental energy instead?
This week been clubbing for 2 times already.....Wed at Liquid Room for launch of Republika CD and Fri at Attica. MOST displeased person would definitely be my wife.....sleeping all alone while me at club seeking all the atmosphere of music.
Still wondering whether am I taking the excuse of being stressed to go clubbing? Indeed very true that I got addicted to shuffling recently. So every clubbing night is like a shuffling practice....
Anyway, I kinda dislike how Attica is being run.....the cover charges is quite ridiculous.

Frisky Friday @ Liquid Room
Was a last minute thing to join my friends for clubbing.....
Had a great time shuffling
DJ Stingray was superb, his music really can bring up and down tempo of the mood of the clubbers.

Laptop revives...
Seems like it's either XP sucks or HP sucks?
It's almost like the 6th time that my laptop couldnt get into XP, have to reinstall the OS and all the necessary applications. Still can't tell whether is it a hardware or OS problem.
Anyway, it's up and running now again...Good to go!
Think it will be hell of a month for me for some deadlines. When can I quit? Wasn't happy working at all. Everyday is like a drag to work.....

Back to work
After finally clearing my marriage leave(5days), it's like I just start to work for this week. It's Thursday and tomolo is Friday. How nice to work only 2 days per week.....FAT HOPE!
Wasn't too good to work as I have a few things bothering me. Have been thinking about my own life recently.
Did I live right as a human? Am I happy with myself?
First of all, I would say for a human like me is very normal looking, except that I look like a bang-ga-la?
Have been in the state of enjoyment with friends and trips overseas, but did I really ENJOY myself? Was the $$ well-spent?
I am actually in a total loss state of mind actually......still pondering.....

Taiwan trip 2005 (31 Mar - 3 Apr)
It has been the furthest trip which I have ever been.
Went to
Taipei, was indeed very impressed with the dance space and tremenous number of clubbers in there, all dressed to the mood.

Monday Blues...?
Not really any Monday blues except that been very affected by my injury problem called "Rotator Cuff Injury". You can click here http://healthinfo.healthgate.com/GetContent.aspx?token=b6... to find out what is it all about?
I guess I am just too hyper in sports or should I say too "HIONG" in sports? In fact, I got addicted to beach volleyball about 1.5years ago.
As I progress, I do know a lot of friends/regulars from the beach. Got even more famous on 01 May 04 (Labour Day - Public Holiday). Why? I got heat cramps and have to be admitted to SGH for further diagnosis. Dramatic scene at Sunset Bay manz....neh....dun wanna remind myself about it as I am more careful this time for beach volleyball sesssions.
Another stressful week ahead before I go flirting with the underwater creatures coming this Thursday @ Redang.

Party dragon....
Friday nite...went for JOHN ‘00’ FLEMING gig at Liquid Room. Was also the first time I arrived so early at Liquid Room when the crowd came gushing in about half an hour's time. No doubt I am not too much into trance, but specifically hard trance seems soothing to my ears as I shuffle.
Dance floor is so packed that there wasnt much space to shuffle around. Couples "wasting" space kissing in action, guys carrying drinks around @ dance floor, yet not dancing....haiz....can't blame them also. How I wish Liquid Room increase it's room size!
Party ended at 310am at Liquid....that's not the end of my partying nite. Walked over to Attica,
which happens to be my first virgin visit there. I am impressed by the atmosphere there. But quite disappointed that in order to party at Attica Two, need to go thru Atttica One, that means there are 2 charges. Attica One by the 1st drink while Attica Two by cover charges.
Wife called 5:10am. Was quite mad @ me for not reporting to her that I am clubbing for the nite....dun want to say more. Just know that she's beginning to feel that I am irresponsible for being the role of her hubby. I am pretty down for that nite as I was quite affected that I have to stop all my beach volleyball sessions for the time being until my shoulder is fully recovered, that could take some months or so. I am just too hyper that I can't do without sports. So that's the whole reason why I club.....my wife can't sense my "down" mood. Can't blame her as I didnt pour out my feelings to her.

My 1st Blog Message...
Guess it's gonna be a good start to pen down a few words. Indeed having a blog this days seems so common as if when you've got a mobile.
Didnt do much today, went to Lucky Plaza to source out for dive fins and digicam casing/battery. Seems like lucky plaza is like a black market to me. They are so willing to offer you a better price just to drag you back in to negotiate.
Talk about watches, I guess CityChain shops sucks. Service is so slow when you send the watch for repair. I bought the watch on 12 Feb 05, sent it for repair on 15 Feb 05, only got to collect it TODAY. It took more than a month just to get it fixed. The most disappointing thing is that I bought this Adidas watch,
barely for 3 days and just realised that the illum light function is not working at all. Even when I got it back, it isnt the same as before. WHY? The beep is at softer volume than originally as before. Should I say that
watches are real Sucky?...anyway it's soon towards the weekend again.
Shall look forward to this weekend.
